This engagement is financed by individual and institutional support, with administrative costs kept to a minimum.

Tdh has been present in Egypt since 1983 and is registered under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Insurance and Social Affairs. It has developed child protection projects and health and sanitation projects. For the last few years, the organization focused its attention protecting children from the worst forms of child labor and developing child protection mechanisms.

Context :

Under the supervision of the Financial Controller in HQ, and in coordination with the delegate by interim, the Finance and Log Manager will bring support to the actual Finance and Logistic departments, compliance with donor and Tdh procedures.

Responsibilities :

  • You review the HR structure of the finance department and is proposing the most adapted set-up given the current strengths, weaknesses and team complementarity opportunities;
  • Based on that, you organize the Finance department including a RACI on all Finance positions for a proper segregation of duties and a proper understanding on whom is doing what;
  • Consequently, you help to organize the communication and coordination set-ups (meetings between finance staff but also between operations and finance);
  • You organize logistics and finance support to the programs on budget follow-up and analysis with the Project Managers;
  • You support on the actual Log package to submit to HQ. Be sure that our actual Log processes are in place;
  • You follow the actual action plan of Finance and Log department, make the follow up with HQ on monthly basis;
  • Finally, you follow up with the HR the situation on Job desk and Yearly staff evaluation.

Profile :

Knowledge :

  • Professional diploma or university degree in Finance and good knowledge in Logistics
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an humanitarian and/or international context
  • Proven experience in accountancy, financial and logistics management.
  • Experience and knowledge in donor compliance & grant management , especially ECHO , UNICEF – UNDP.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Advance IT knowledge (hardware and software, Microsoft Office, Internet).
  • Good level in SAGA accounting
  • Significant knowledge and experience in human resources management
  • Experience in a similar position

Skills :

Required qualities: organized, sense of human relations, diplomacy, communication skills.

Desirable: proactive, autonomous, rigorous, analytical, willingness and motivation to work in an international and intercultural context.

Languages:

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

Salary :

Expatriate contract under Swiss labour code 2’950 CHF (~2’550 €) < > 4’300 CHF (~3’700 €) net /month according to experience x 13, Holidays: 25 days per year. Local accommodation and transportation, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation insurance, return flight.

  • Providing guidance to employees and others and defining expectations when it comes to preventing, raising, denouncing and responding to issues of child abuse

Since its creation in 1960, the mission of Terre des hommes has been to come to the aid of children in need. It endeavours at all times to defend the rights of children, in times of war and natural disasters, or in less publicised situations of distress.

Terre des hommes, also Terre des Hommes (Land of People, literally, Land of Men) is an international children's rights charitable humanitarian umbrella organization under the aegis of the International Federation of Terre des Hommes (TDHIF), with independent organizations in Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, and Syria.

It was founded in 1960 by Edmond Kaiser in Lausanne, Switzerland.[1] The organization is named after Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 1939 philosophical memoir "Terre des hommes" (English title: Wind, Sand and Stars). An important part of the TDHIF's work is as a consultant to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Promoting the Convention on the Rights of a Child is an important activity of Tdh. Advocating for children’s rights, defending them, and spreading information are tasks which Terre des Hommes – to the aid of children considers a priority.
