The Role:

The Finance Officer will lead the finance support team in implementation of effective and accountable financial and asset control systems. With the assistance of the Finance and Support Services Manager, the position holder will implement planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms which contribute to effective and accountable programs. The incumbent will ensure finance support team provides technical backstopping to program teams, promoting adherence to World Vision’s Field Finance Manual for a host of routine financial transactions. With the guidance of the Finance and Support Services Manager, the incumbent will promote awareness of finance policy and procedures with staff members and implementing partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of effective and accountable financial and asset control systems.
  • Implementation of timely planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms.
  • Promote awareness of World Vision finance policy and procedure to ensure accountable implementation of World Vision programs.
  • Ensure staff under management are well-trained and their performance is managed.

Essential:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 3 years of finance related experience.
  • Ability to articulate in both written and spoken English
  • Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to present financial data in a clear and coherent manner with EXCEL and other relevant accounting programs;

Working Environment:

The position is office-based in Garowe and 10% domestic/international travel may be required
