Position objectives
The Fundación “Ayuda en Acción” is recruiting experienced candidates to coordinate and monitor on the financial and program administration those actions and activities to be implemented by Ayuda en Acción that have contributed to the development of those most vulnerable groups in its areas of intervention for the time being allocated in Cabo Delgado and Maputo.
The selected candidate will support the administration and finance department in financial management and accounting, respecting the generally accepted accounting principles and standards; managing the available financial, human, material and technological resources, respecting the applicable regulations for each donor; supporting other operational areas of the organization, partners, communities, public institutions and other relevant actors to achieve the objectives of the organization in the Ayuda en Acción Programs.
Functions
· Support in accounting entries (cash and banks) ensuring their compliance with IFRS and the Spanish general accounting plan, following the guidelines of the National Accountant and the National Administrator;
· Managing accounting and administrative files of cashes and banks;
· Manage cash flow (Petty Cash);
· Support in the management and control of treasury activities, carry out bank reconciliations and manage liquidity levels based on the guidelines of the National Accountant, the Financial Manager and our Financial Department at Headquarters, ensuring the availability of sufficient financial resources for the execution of projects;
· Process internal requisitions and payment orders in accordance with internal procedures;
· Ensuring compliance with legal, fiscal, accounting and tax requirements, respecting internal procedures and local rules in force;
· Support in presenting financial and accounting reports in accordance with the guidelines and deadlines established by the Financial Manager and the National Accountant;
· Ensure the correct justification of funds in accordance with the rules of the Ayuda en Acción and donors;
· Support the monitoring of the financial execution and to analyze the deviations in the different budget lines to contribute to the objectives intended by the organization;
· Carry out field visits in the framework of the projects made with our local teams and with local partners to monitor and ensure compliance with the agreements signed by the parties and, at the same time, with our donors;
· Ensure compliance with fiscal obligations and other labor procedures, such as Vacation Plan, Nominal Ratio, INSS, IRPS, etc;
· Support in the management of the Foundation’s human resources in Mozambique: payment of salaries, and monitoring of the individual processes of employees ensuring the applicable local regulations;
· Supporting the position of Logistics in supervising the development and review of purchasing procedures and checking inventory control, in accordance with internal administrative procedures established by the organization;
· Follow up on the processes of external/internal audits, accounting, management and project execution;
· Monitor and carry out continuous exhaustive evaluations within the control of accounting, tax and financial management, developing and ensuring the sustainability of the processes promoted, following the guidelines of the National Accountant and the Program Manager;
· Facilitate and support the implementation of best practices and internal control mechanisms in the processes of management and administration of resources;
· Provide any necessary support in the coordination of all administrative and financial functions entrusted by the Management of Ayuda en Acción;
Requirements
· University degree in Economics/Accountancy/Finance or Business administration.
· Minimum of 05 years of experience in financial department, ideally within a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
· High command of the office software (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.).
· Experience in accounting software (knowledge of ERP SAP will be positively evaluated).
· Excellent communication skills in both Portuguese and English (spoken and written). Communication skills in Macua is a plus.
· Availability to travel and to visit rural areas.
· Demonstrated experience in applications and implications of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local PGC-NIRF in the accounting of the organization in Mozambique.
· Solid knowledge and application of the labor and tax legislation in force.
