KEY RESPONSABILITIES

Ensure the proper and efficient management of financial resources

  • Financial management of ongoing projects, in collaboration with Project Heads (CPs), sector coordinators and the Country Representative (RP)
  • Manage month-end processes in line with donors and OVCI procedures
  • Manage project budget, monthly processing of expenditure list for internal periodic financial statements and to be submitted to donors
  • Recording and timely transmission of accounting files to the Italian headquarters according to the rules and methods set by the Central Office
  • Verification of procedures for purchasing goods and services, supervision of subsequent compliance, in compliance with donor indications and OVCI procurement policies
  • Support the CR, CPs and the central office in drawing up budgets for the submission of new projects
  • Support and supervision of the preparation of documentation for the annual on-site audit
  • Manage OVCI legal and tax compliance, in collaboration with the CR

Administrative management human resources present in the country

  • Supervision and verification of local administrative staff regarding:

    – monthly accounting management and correct maintenance of supporting expenditure documentation,

    – movement control and cash/bank balance

  • On-the-job training for local administrative staff to ensure autonomy and responsibility in work
  • Support the Local Personnel Manager in managing local employees (verification of local employment and taxation regulations, control of employment contracts and correct calculation of taxes and social security contributions)
  • Handling advance requests from expatriate collaborators

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Language skills: excellent written and spoken Italianand English

  • Degree in economics and/or administrative path in international cooperation.
  • Strong knowledge in administrative and accounting fields
  • Budgeting, financial management skills and reporting
  • Knowledge of procedures of major national and international donors (AICS, EU, etc.)
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent knowledge and mastery of Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience in international cooperation projects
  • Knowledge of PRAG rules
  • High organizational skills
  • Ability to use management/accounting programs
  • Ability to work in teams and for goals and in multicultural contexts
  • Interest and motivation to work for an NGO while respecting its values and principles

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • 6 months contract from January 2026, possible periods of remote work
  • reporting to: Italian Administration Office
  • pay: based on experience (reference range level B – C National Collective Agreement AOI and Link 2007, 4/12/23)
  • in Juba, OVCI guarantees accommodation, 1 flight A/R, insurance, visa fees
