The Carel du Toit Trust Tygerberg is the fundraising arm of the Carel du Toit Centre, where hearing impaired children learn to speak. The Trust was established in 1988 and our vision is to be a reputable fundraiser impacting the lives of children with hearing impairments in Africa to reach their full potential and thrive, through enabling access to the Carel du Toit methodology of natural spoken language with audiological support.
The Trust is seeking to appoint a Financial Manager/Accountant, based in South Africa.
Salary: R 300 000 Annually
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the finance function of the Trust and serve as strategic partner to the Director
- Manage a small finance team
- Overall management of the finances of three separate entities: Trust, Centre and Residences
- Play a key role in the budgeting, forecasting and planning process; including strategic support to the Director
- Implement the organisation’s strategy plan from a financial controlling perspective
- Financial modelling, analysis and presentation of reports/findings to key stakeholders
- Prepare and review of the monthly performance report and rolling 12-month forecasts
- Develop and refine management accounting and reporting
- Oversee and prepare for annual tax/audit processes
- Adherence to all Statutory Regulations/Requirements in order to ensure compliance
- Maintain Fixed Asset Registers and review and adjust inventory systems
- Design, Review, implement and maintain all necessary internal control measures for financial function as a whole (including: inventory, stock, debtors, receipts, purchases, payments etc.)
- Day to day banking e.g. EFT payments
- Payroll and employee benefits administration
- Review and submit SARS reports; prepare and submit all other reports as required
- Prepare staff contracts and maintaining leave records
- Review and annual update of Insurance Policy
- Vehicles, contracts, repairs and maintenance
Requirements:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in finance management in a corporate or NGO
- B.Com degree (or equivalent); Honours degree preferable
- Strong leadership, analytical and reporting skills
- Computer literacy Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Pastel Accounting / Payroll skills would be advantageous
- Fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans) with superb communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organised, self-motivated and pays attention to detail
- Proactive and deadline driven
