Gauteng Older Persons Forum (GOPF) is a non-profit organisation that lobbies and advocate all levels of government on issues affecting older persons in Gauteng.
GOPF seeks to appoint a General Office Assistant based in Maraisburg.
This is a two years’ contract.
Salary: R60 000 per annum
Responsibilities
- Professionally manning the switchboard and be the first point of contact to the organisation
- Run a professional front line desk of the provincial office
- Manage the diary of the Provincial Coordinator ensuring correct bookings and schedules
- Design and implement a user-friendly filing system which will accommodate all the regional forums needs
- Ensure correct filing of incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Ensure that all incoming and outgoing emails are attended to timeously
- Ensure that all office stationery is purchased as and when a need arises
- Be knowledgeable about the organisation so as to be able to support all regional staff and constituencies
- Prepare refreshments during Board meetings, minutes of previous meetings and all other relevant needs before a Board meeting
- Take minutes during office meetings including Board meetings
- Responsible for petty cash
- Any other general duty as assigned by Manager(s)
Requirements
- Grade 12
- An Office / Administration or equivalent qualification
- Six months to one-year experience in Administration, Office Management and Switchboard
- Show an Understanding of the Older Persons Act
- Have knowledge about the NGO/NPO sector
