Background
The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international centre that supports and promotes nonviolent
approaches to conflict transformation through a combination of research and action that entails the strengthening of existing local capacities and enhancing the preconditions for building peace. LPI envisions a world where peace, justice and non-violent relations prevail through people’s active work and commitment. LPI works with a variety of local and regional partners in the Horn of Africa region (Somalia, Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia) and Great Lakes region (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
Position Summary:
At the core of the work of LPI is its commitment to reflective practice and learning. This commitment, captured in the Institute’s third strategic priority- Knowledge and Learning to enhance practice- is accompanied by the recognition of the need for documentation, learning, and sharing of generated evidence and knowledge. You will assist with building MEL systems focused on data collection, data aggregation, data analysis and reporting (internal and external). You will be an expert listener and bring a range of experience for designing systems to support the reporting components of our work.
You will also be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the grant management process including: identification of potential new funding sources, development of funding resources for existing and proposed programs, writing grants, developing budgets, collaborating on grant applications with various donor community organizations, and processing, monitoring and coordinating required report evaluations on existing grants.
