The Role

In this role, you will report to the Country Director and contribute to the strategic leadership of the country programme as a member of the Country Leadership Team. You will lead and develop a team of functional experts in Finance, Administration, Logistics and IT ensuring optimum delivery of quality services and support to projects in line with Oxfam policies. You will oversee the preparation, consolidation and analysis of collated country and project budgets. As Head of Operations you will support the Country Director by conducting regular effective risk analysis and reviews for the country, ensuring proper financial and operational controls are in place. You will work collaboratively with others to create strategies to mitigate financial and operational risk in the as well as support the design and implementation of any new systems required, processes and policies.

What we are looking for

Our next Head of Operations will have significant amount of experience in providing a whole range of financial and business support services, ideally within an International NGO or public sector. Experience of working in a supervisory position with a team structure. Proven ability to interpret financial procedures and standards, put them into practice and influence others in their implementation. Strong analytical and planning skills as well as be able to demonstrate experience of working with computerised accounting packages and spreadsheets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work as part of a dispersed, multi-disciplined and multi-cultural team. Gender and cultural sensitivity with a strong commitment and understanding of the values and principles of Oxfam, Proven ability to support, coach and encourage high performance in teams. Knowledge of Oxfam systems and procedures is an advantage
