Contract Type: 12 months, fixed term

Hours: Full time

Salary: £31,103 plus expatriate benefits

Could you lead and inspire a team to deliver impactful and effective programmes?

Islamic Relief are looking to recruit a Head of Programme to provide strategic leadership and expertise in Malawi. The candidate will make key decision in relation to programme implementation and offer solutions to problems. H/She will also ensure a quality emergency response and development programme is in line with IR’s global and country strategies and as per donor requirements.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Experience of working with various International NGOs in developing countries.
  • An in depth understanding of national and international development issues in particular in relation to community development.
  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to listen, sensitivity to other peoples’ views and perspectives, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Experience of working specifically towards, and reporting against Sustainable Development Goals
  • Willing to travel to remote locations and in difficult terrains
