Chemonics seeks a health emergency response consultant for Project Last Mile (PLM) in Liberia. The consultant will address needs related to strengthening the supply chain and health commodity systems to improve emergency preparedness and response in Liberia. In contributing to the Liberian government’s preparedness for emerging pandemic treats, PLM builds local capacity for supply chain management in the context of the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). Based in Monrovia, Liberia, the health emergency response consultant will assist the emergency supply chain coordinator with adapting and piloting a supply chain framework to strengthen local response capacities and with managing infectious disease outbreaks and other public health threats in coordination with local stakeholders. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review the Liberia emergency supply chain work plan and provide feedback
  • Review the work the local team has completed and provide feedback
  • Share relevant experience from other countries
  • Share reference materials and documents that will help the Liberia team customize the playbook
  • Provide technical guidance on the emergency supply chain playbook customization process
  • Support the customization of the emergency supply chain playbook’s commodity planning modules and the governance structure
  • Provide technical assistance to the emergency supply chain core team
  • Participate in the emergency supply chain core team meetings
  • Co-facilitate the core team meetings if necessary
  • Provide a final report to the emergency supply chain technical coordinator

Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate degree in pharmacy, public health, health supply chain management, epidemiology, health management systems, or a relevant discipline preferred
  • Eight to 10 years of experience in the supply chain management of health commodities
  • Experience conducting complex consulting assignments involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working on USAID-funded projects
  • Experience working on the GHSA and customizing emergency supply chain playbooks; experience with the One Health Approach preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively represent activities and programs and engage partners, government counterparts, and funders
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse team members, donors, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English
