Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Providing technical assistance and oversight and acting as a knowledge broker in the areas of needs assessment, program design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of mental health and psychosocial support interventions.
  • Planning, conducting and analyzing the results from an MHPSS needs assessment.
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; expressing complex and technical terminology and concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and consistently ensure the confidentiality of information.
  • Develop training materials and tools adapted for local contexts
  • Plan and carry out training, facilitate capacity building activities and maintains a positive learning environment
  • Gather and analyze data, using it to plan and manage both projects and systems of MHPSS.
  • Plan and implement strategic changes to improve service delivery
  • Providing a first referral level for technical questions arising from stakeholders in the operational level and re-directing these to the health and care department for further assistance as needed.
  • Promoting and coordinating the development and integration of MHPSS services in disaster management and health in an emergency.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A university degree in Medicine “preferable in psychiatry” or master’s degree of Psychology.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in implementing MHPSS activities.
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
  • Strong experience with monitoring tools and systems.
  • Demonstrate experience with different donors’ compliance and reporting
  • Understanding of humanitarian operations principles, standards and best practices
  • Experience of training and capacity building.
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued.
  • Previous experience of managing a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage efficiently multiple priorities, deadlines and tasks with attention to details.
  • Strong reporting skills.
  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Arabic is an asset.
