Amref Health Africa in South Sudan is seeking to hire qualified South Sudanese Nationals to fill the following Contingent position for the USAID- Advancing HIV & AIDS Epidemic Control (AHEC) Project in South Sudan.

Project Overview: USAID- Advancing HIV & AIDS Epidemic Control (AHEC):

The purpose of the AHEC activity is to decrease morbidity and mortality among South Sudanese by increasing prevention, care, treatment, and retention services for at-risk men, women, children, and key populations; and to improve South Sudan’s journey to self-reliance by improving strengthening the capacity of local partners to prepare them for the receipt of future prime funding. Job Summary: The HIV Care and Treatment Advisor will be responsible for taking lead in providing strategic advice on implementation strategies and activities that will lead to improving access and quality of HIV Prevention, care and Treatment services in South Sudan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance for achieving project targets in HIV Prevention, care and Treatment (HTS, PMTCT, SMC, HIV/TB, HIV care and treatment) and integration of services.
  • Provide technical support to health facilities and States/Counties in the project area to implement and meet set targets.
  • Provide technical support and oversight for the integrated HIV Prevention and Treatment services at facility and community levels in coordination with project partners
  • Collaborate with advisors to improve access to quality HIV Prevention and Treatment services. Ensure improved demand for HIV Prevention and Treatment services

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Public health, with at least 5 years’ experience in technically leading/advising large scale HIV Prevention and Treatment programs in South Sudan.

Experience working with provinces and health facilities to improve HIV Prevention and Treatment services in South Sudan.

Knowledge of the South Sudan government’s national health and HIV/AIDS-related policies, the South Sudan health care system, and the health-related programs of other donors.
Demonstrated ability of improving quality of health services at large scale.
A good working knowledge of the most up to date guidelines for HIV Prevention and Treatment services.
Experience of working with diverse groups of stakeholders such as government, NGOs, and private-sector partners. Ability to organize, analyze, interpret and program performance data.
Experience of working with USAID funded projects is an advantage.
Experience in resource challenged environments.
Fluency in English language. Knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
