Key End Results and typical Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate country learning and development programs by identifying related staff learning gaps in consultation with line management leveraging on the performance management system in place and changing circumstances. Assist in delivering learning where possible. Contribute to the development of a career path and ensure its communication to the concerned parties in line with related procedures.
  • Contribute to the recruitment processes to ensure that Plan Egypt has a functional work force.
  • Coordinate and process the monthly timesheets for all staff and produce a monthly consolidated report to be used for cost recovery.
  • Liaise with service provider on staff health insurance to ensure high level of service and effectiveness of the relationship.
  • Contribute to the process of annual appraisals including training staff, following up on the process and conducting performance review sessions when appropriate.
  • Maintain an effective electronic human resources information system ensuring completeness and accuracy of records at all times in line with organizational standards and fitting practices.
  • Collate annual leave plans from all staff for effective leave planning, monitoring and management in line with HR Policy Manual provisions.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of leave schedules/reports for completeness & adherence to plans.
  • Provide support in identifying and mitigating human resources risks including HR initiatives.
  • Provide support in developing and implementing country HR policies. Clarify HR policies and related queries to staff.
  • Promote and abide by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to safeguarding children and young people policy, code of conduct and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
  • Enter data into the HR systems and personal files and keep them up-to-date in order to facilitate HR processes management.
  • Administrate the HR information systems (HRIS, HITS) to ensure that it is maintained updated and functional.
  • Prepare quality HR quarterly and year end reports within stipulated timeframes for review by the Country HR Manager.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be required by the line manager.
     
    Dealing with Problems:
  • The post holder is required to demonstrate the ability to solve problems objectively and equitably, think strategically while introducing innovations as needed to meet the demands of a dynamic and sometimes unpredictable internal and external employment environment
  • S/he is also expected to ensure that Plan policies and local labor laws are adhered to

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:

Knowledge:

  • A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline
  • Human Resources Management diploma
  •  A minimum of 2-3  years managerial experience at a similar level preferably in an  INGO environment is desirable.

  • Strong negotiation, organizational, facilitating and influencing skills
  • High degree of confidentiality and integrity

Plan International is an international organisation or development which works in 51 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to promote the safeguarding of children.It is a nonprofit organisation and is one of the world's largest organisations based on children, it works in 58,000 communities with the help of volunteers to improve how 56 million children live. The charity also has 21 national organisations who have been given the responsibility to oversee the raising of funds and awareness in their individual countries.

The organisation puts an emphasis on communities working together in order to address the needs of children around the world. The NGO focuses on child participation, education, economic security, emergencies, health, protection, sexual health (including HIV), and water and sanitation. It provides training in disaster preparedness, response and recovery, and has worked on relief efforts in countries including Haiti, Colombia and Japan.

Plan International also sponsors the Because I Am a Girl campaign, which has published many stories focusing on the struggle of young women in the developing world.

Plan International was founded during the Spanish Civil War by British journalist John Langdon-Davies and aid worker Eric Muggeridge. When they witnessed the conflict change the lives of children, they founded ‘Foster Parents Plan for Children in Spain’, which would later change its name to Plan International. Set up in 1937, the organisation provided food, shelter and clothing to children whose lives had been destroyed by the war.
