  • University Degree in Medicine and Surgery with further specialisation or equivalent title in Infectious Disease
  • Minimum of three years of work experience
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; knowledge of Kiswahili will be an asset
  • Solid experience in the field of HIV
  • Previous professional experience in Developing Countries

PROJECT OBJECTIVES Ensure better quality of treatment for HIV + patients

KEY DUTIES

  • Ensure the improvement of the quality of HIV services in the centre (HUB): conduct clinical activity in CTC (visit patients, define therapies, schedule follow-up etc.), collaborate with the laboratory manager to improve the quality of examinations, supervise drug procurement
  • Supervise and collaborate with the pharmacist so that drugs and materials are adequately and regularly provided, both for HUB activities and for Club activities in dispensaries and villages
  • Provide on-the-job training for HIV personnel: VCT staff, nurses, CO and midwives
  • Collaborate in the realization of training activities for the local staff of the Hospital
  • Participate, if requested by the PM, in coordination meetings with partners, religious authorities, local authorities and civil society representatives
  • Supervise and collaborate with the pharmacist so that the drugs and healthcare materials are adequately and regularly provided for both HUB activities and club activities in dispensaries and villages
