The Feed the Future Ethiopia-Value Chain Activity (FTFE-VCA) is a five-year activity (January 2017-December 2021) that aims to benefit smallholder farmers through improved production, marketing, and enabling environment for the maize, chickpea, coffee, live animals/meat, and dairy value chains. Feed the Future Ethiopia Value Chain Activity supports value chain development of the commodities focusing on enhancing private sector investment and addressing critical market failures limiting the development of the selected value chains.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the National coordinator, the intern provides support to the team and works in close collaboration with regional coordinators to organize and facilitate workshops at the regional level, the assignment will include:

  • Assist on the preparation of farmers outreach programs , perform pre-workshop assignments in collaboration with the regional coordinators and key stakeholders
  • Facilitate event, assist on presentations and support the regional coordinators in logistics arrangement.
  • Assist on sending out invitations and coordination with regional stakeholders
  • Capture , document  and contribute to workshop reports

Job Requirements

  • Individuals with University degree– BA, BSc in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Management Studies, Public Administration, or a related Feild
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Creative open-minded team player with strong initiative and willingness to learn;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural working environment
  • Fluent in English, Amharic and other local language
