  1. Overview of the project

The Seizing the Moment project has an overall purpose of strengthening the Ministry of Women Children and Youth (MoWCY) as an institution so that it can better support and hold other line ministries to account for delivery on gender transformative outcomes.  This will be achieved by capitalizing on the current dynamic political context in Ethiopia, and utilizing CARE Ethiopia’s expertise and learning on gender transformative work in Ethiopia. The project is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID).

As a gender transformative organization with inclusive and equitable programs and practices, one of the strategies CARE proposes to promote gender equality in the workplace is through the engagement of male colleagues. In line with CARE Ethiopia’s commitment to develop staff capacity in general, and specifically to foster this modern working environment and create mutually supportive relationship between female and male employees, CARE/MOWCY is planning to implement coaching and mentoring program for MOWCY male staffs and increase their competencies and skills.

  1. Purpose and scope of the consultancy        

The main objective of this consultancy work is to provide mentoring and coaching service for selected male staffs and share key coaching and mentoring skills for the participants to practice.

  • To increase participant’s competences and skills on
  • Personal presentation,
  • Communication Skills,
  • Public speaking,
  • Embracing gender and diversity,
  • Personal awareness and leadership characteristics and
  • Mentoring skills.
  • Participants will have a platform to explore their emotions on gender transformative work environment and how this transformation can lead to positive changes.

The program will be carried out at MOWCY and the consultancy agency/center will collaborate with CARE and MOWCY to facilitate these coaching and mentoring sessions to its selected staffs.

Job Requirements

  1. Skills and qualifications

The firm and its staff is expected to have:

  • BA/MA or in field of Public Administration, HRM, Management, Gender, Psychology and related study.
  • Minimum five years of experience in coaching and mentoring and proven record in delivering professional results.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English;
  • Experience in the field of development, particularly in issues focusing on Social Norms and Social Analysis.
  • Knowledge and familiarity working with government offices, particularly in MoWCY, or MoLSA or EIC would be advantageous.
  1. General Requirement

Having relevant and renewed business license for this particular categories is a minimum eligibility criteria to participate in the bid. And all interested consultant should attach the Copy of the following licenses/documents with their bid document:

  • Renewed Trade/Business License
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • Tax clearance
  • Value Added Tax (VAT) registration
  • Any other applicable documentation

CARE Ethiopia reserves the right to accept or reject part and/ or all of the bids.
