Currently, we are seeking suitably qualified candidates to fill the Logistics and Procurement Assistant position in Cairo for the USAID-funded Integrated Management of Cultural Tourism (IMCT) Activity.
The objective of the 4-year activity is to increase tourism revenues and local economic benefits, including increased employment and business opportunities, in the cultural tourism sector at targeted destinations. The four results of the IMCT activity are:
Consolidation and reinforcement of GOE efforts to improve the enabling regulatory environment for investment in sustainable cultural heritage tourism; consolidated/reinforced; Selected cultural heritage sites rehabilitated and financially sustainable; Higher-value added tourism products and services developed at target destinations; and Capacity to promote cultural tourism in target destinations enhanced.
Job Description
The Logistics and Procurement Assistant will be responsible for overall security and logistics, and other office administration functions for the project.
Specific duties include:
Logistics:
Management of travel coordination in accordance with FHI 360 policies and procedures
Facilitating efficient coordination of conferences, workshops, meetings in accordance with FHI 360 policies and procedures
Monitor and track project asset inventories
Direct and supervise stockroom management practices to ensure compliance
Identify office needs and facilitate provision of supplies for the needs
Ensure efficient usage of FHI 360 vehicle/s
Perform other duties as assigned
Procurement:
Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with FHI 360 organization policies and donor regulations (e.g. USAID rules and regulations).
Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual project procurement plans and monitor implementation.
Manage the filing of project documents (reports – quarterly, annual and other relevant documents on the FHI 360 server and ensure confidentiality of project documents and information.
Plan organize and lead the bid solicitation processes including drafting and issuing request for quotes, developing bid evaluation criteria and guiding clients on processes
Minimum Requirements
High School/GED Diploma or international equivalent.
Bachelor Degree or its International Equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or Business Administration, preferred.
Typically 0-3 years required with 3-5 years of experience providing full range of logistics and security support in an office setting, preferred.
Experience establishing startup operations/projects in new countries preferred.
Proficiency with database management software and on-line search tools required.
Has sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political, contextual, and ethical issues in assigned areas.
Articulate and professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private company of progressive program management experience in humanitarian assistance or related industry experience in a relevant technical area.
Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills in Arabic; English language fluency highly desired.
