Responsible for defining and implementing countrywide logistics strategies in the areas of fleet, fuel, construction and inventory and asset management in accordance with MTI and donor policies and regulations.The Logistics Managers will oversee the warehouses, inventory control, material handling, fleet and fuel, transportation and planning workers. They hire, train and evaluate employees. Managers prepare worker schedules and ensure warehousing and distribution workers follow safety rules. The manager may prepare reports for upper management; negotiate shipping and supplier costs, and work to improve the efficiency of the company’s supply chain.

- Responsible for directing and monitoring the implementation of country logistics activities including stock and supply of medical and non-medical material, transport, vehicles and engines, equipment and infrastructure construction and rehabilitation and ensuring compliance with MTI and donor policies and procedures
- Ensure proper management of warehouses and fleet and fuel management
- Responsible for managing the budget of the Logistics department and for the appropriate use of materials and assets in accordance with budget holder authority
- Ensure integration of logistics functions with other departments to promote strong coordination in support of health programming activities
- Implement strategies to use Unit 4 ERP system for maximum effectiveness of logistics resources and ensure data integrity; ensure logistics staff are trained in using system according to MTI procedures
- Work with Senior Management Team to improve operational systems, processes and policies to support information flow, business processes and organizational planning
- Provide key information necessary for decision making to Country Director and Senior Management Team related to Logistics
- As a member of the Senior Management Team, contribute to developing organizational objectives and change management strategies
- Lead on the development and monitoring of Logistics quality assurance systems
- Monitor performance against targets and deliverables for all contracts, including performance of sub- contracting partners
- Responsible for ensuring Logistics department is adequately staffed and employees are trained and competent to perform tasks
- Participate in writing expressions of interest, project proposals, developing budgets and project performance analysis reports
- Analyze Logistics data and reports; develop final reports for submission to management
- Represent MTI to stakeholders at all levels on activities related to logistics
- Ensure applications for tax exemption and asset acquisition processes related to URA are submitted in a timely manner
- Ensure direct reports have clear objectives, receive mentorship and participate in capacity building opportunities
- Conduct performance evaluations and enforce disciplinary procedures as per MTI policy
- Supports safeguarding of all personnel and program participants through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, and Child & Vulnerable Adult protection policies and harassment policies.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
EXPERIENCE
Required:
- 5 years of progressive experience in operational/logistics management
- Experience with donor (UN, USAID, etc.) asset and logistics specific experience is an added advantage
