Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has decided to start-up an emergency response both in Niger and Burkina Faso under one country management leadership to respond to humanitarian needs of the displaced and conflict affected civilians in line with NRC’s ambition of being present where needs are. NRC is in the process of setting up offices in Niamey and Ouagadougou. At present, NRC is looking at responding to needs within the following core competencies: Shelter/Wash, Education and ICLA (information Counselling and Legal Assistance).

We are looking for a highly experienced Logistics Manager for our new country programme in Niger and Burkina Faso. This is an opportunity to play a leading role in coordinating NRC’s programme activities relating to Supply and Logistics, both in Niger and Burkina Faso This role is for an individual with extensive practical field experience, including emergencies and you will need to demonstrate the competencies and behaviours as agreed in humanitarian sphere.

You will provide overall leadership in the logistics team by ensuring that country set up comply with Logistical Handbook, NRC policies and donor requirements.

In addition, you will have minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context; proven management experience of teams, aiming at sector specific capacity building through motivating, developing and supporting others, and experience with donor specific requirements and accountability related to Logistics.

Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal is a requirement;

We offer:

Contract Length: 12 months

Level: Grade 9 in NRC grade structure

Duty station: Ouagadougou with regular travel Niamey and other field locations

Approved health certificate will be requested before contract start.
