MEAL Assistant
The Opportunity
As a member of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Team, the MEAL assistant will directly implement all MEAL processes and activities required to improve programme quality over the course of projects’ implementation. This includes supporting the design of project M&E framework, Accountability, and Learning Plans; supporting evaluation studies, implementing project monitoring tools, tracking project outputs and results; and contributing to SCI annual monitoring and reporting. The position also supports effective accountability systems, including beneficiary complaints and response systems; and will contribute to project and organizational learning processes.
In line with SCI Egypt’s MEAL approaches, the MEAL Assistant is responsible for ensuring all MEAL processes are gender-sensitive and are participatory, including capturing the voice of children. The MEAL Assistant is expected to work in close collaboration with MEAL team members, and with program and project staff.
The position is Alexandria based and may include regular travel to Save the Children Egypt’s program locations across Egypt.
Essential:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor’s degree in social studies or development-related fields; postgraduate degree is an asset.
* 2-3 years of experience working in the Monitoring and Evaluation field.
* Experience in data management and ensuring quality data collection
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
* Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in a fluid context;
* Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and well-working knowledge of English is a must;
* Well-working knowledge of excel is a must;
* Experience with refugee/marginalized communities desired;
* Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding;
