Overview of position

CTG on behalf of Chelsea Energie (our sister company) is currently looking for qualified candidates to a fill position to manage 140 MW HFO plant, expanding to include 7 additional power plants totalling 112 MW.

Role objectives

  • In coordination with the Maintenance Manager, identify & prepare a list of all needed mechanical spare parts, tools, materials & other supplies for procurement to ensure their availability when needed to complete all planned & unplanned maintenance works on time.
  • Leads & supervises in the prudent execution of mechanical predictive, preventive & corrective maintenance of the engines, complying with the procedures & norms established within the company to contribute to the engine’s best performance.
  • Leads & supervises in the performance of prudent mechanical corrective, predictive & preventive maintenance to all other plant auxiliary equipment based on the tasks assigned by his superior.
  • Carries out all mechanical preventive, predictive & corrective maintenance on the MV & LV system, including transformers.
  • Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager regarding the work plans to determine maintenance priorities based on necessities not to disrupt the plant’s smooth operation.
  • Carries out the necessary inspections on both visual & use of instruments to keep the plant under good condition & stable operation thus preventing unnecessary & costly failures of the engines & auxiliaries.
  • Leads & supervises other mechanical maintenance activities assigned by his / her superiors according to work order’s requirements.
  • Fills up all information required in the work order for recording in the CMMS for future reference.
  • Keeps constant communication & coordination with superiors & the operations personnel on ongoing work’s progress & status.
  • Interprets drawings, sketches, diagrams & plant equipment instructions to guarantee maintenance’s correct actions & propose timely adjustments & modifications if needed.
  • Records all activities in the logbook by detailing the works performed daily to keep updated information for future reference.
  • Ensures that all the assigned activities are performed safely & healthy based on the norms established by the company.
  • Leads & supervises the modifications & improvement projects programmed by the Maintenance Manager to optimize the equipment’s operation.
  • Performs other works that his / her superiors may assign.

Project reporting

  • This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies

  • Marine or Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on a large capacity gas or diesel engines power plant preferably under O&M contract.
  • Computer literate & preferably knows how to work on any CMMS software.

Team management

  • Team management experience is required for this role.
