Context:

Under the direct supervision of the Reporting Officer and the overall supervision and guidance of the Operations Coordinator in Juba, the successful candidate will do tracking project indicators and collecting data from other key functions (pipeline, response & information management) within the unit.

S/he will participate in conducting field monitoring and evaluation of the Shelter and Non-Food Items (S/NFI) activities; i.e. Post Distribution Monitoring baseline, mid-term, end line, impact evaluation data collection, data analysis as well as training of staff on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) methodologies.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

Monitoring

• Assist in collecting, maintaining and analysing various data for M&E activities.
• Provide inputs, information and statistics for M&E documents and quarterly, annual and other reports.
• Assist in the design and implementation of special assessments, surveys, and operational research.
• Check the accuracy of entered data and compare it with the existing filing system to make sure

all records are consistent and aligned.

• Support project staff and partners to use data effectively for decision-making.
• Participate in field monitoring visits.
• Identify and suggest opportunities for M&E training.
• Keep abreast of mobile data collection tools and other new technologies, including mobile data collection forms in kobo, Open Data Kit (ODK) or other similar digital data collection methods.

Evaluation & Reporting

• Assist in the collection and presentation of relevant information.
• Liaise with internal and external M&E groups and teams to keep abreast of current M&E

practices.

• Draft M&E reports for review and approval, as well as input for success stories.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations and Human Rights or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
• University degree in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Experience in humanitarian or development programing;
• Knowledge of M&E and post-distribution monitoring;
• Operational field experience and emergency experience an asset;
• Excellent computer skills with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft office and online data collection tools;
• Knowledge of the cluster system and experience in South Sudan an asset.

Languages

Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
