South Africa is a vibrant non-governmental organisation, which uses creative ways of actively involving young people in HIV and TB prevention. The head office is in Durban (KwaZulu-Natal).

OneVoice South Africa seeks to appoint a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to be based in Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

This is a part-time (32 hours per month); limited duration contract position.

Total proposed salary package: R20 000.00 to R24 000.00 per annum.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Schools Programme and Research Manager.

The M&E Officer will be responsible for Developing, implementing and managing systems for the monitoring evaluation and reporting. S/he will be responsible for overall M&E and learning needs of the projects. S/he will also be responsible for coming up with findings based on real data to show performance of the projects and their target audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of the M&E Strategic Plan, drive and sustain quality assurance in the collection of good quality data as well as analyse and provide critical interpretation of the data that allows for the improvement of programme implementation and management
  • Consistently provide input to all process and outcome reporting, support programme planning, review and formal programme evaluations
  • Responsible for data cleaning
  • Writing and performing statistical analysis ad hoc reports for various projects

Requirements:

  • NQF Level 6; M&E, Research or similar studies
  • Quantitative research skills including protocol development, data collection, data analysis and report writing
  • High level of computer literacy including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Communication skills in English (e.g. report writing and oral presentation)
  • Experience in data capturing
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and plan strategically
  • Ability to work independently and pro-actively, and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage analyse routine data and provide programme feedback
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills and attention to details
  • Demonstrate an understanding of HIV and TB prevention programming with young people, and current schools-based life skills programmes (in South Africa), advantageous.
