DESCRIPTION

The CIDEAL Foundation seeks to hire an International Cooperation professional to coordinate the interventions that CIDEAL is carrying out in Niger.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Training

  • University education, preferably in agronomy, economics, or similar.
  • Postgraduate in international cooperation.
  • Knowledge of spanish, french and english is essential. Arabic is highly valued.

Previous experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project cycle management (identification, formulation, monitoring, evaluation), with a minimum of 7 years’ field experience.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Experience in technical and financial management of interventions co-financed by AECID, as well as Spanish decentralized cooperation, European Union, and multilateral donors.
  • Experience in African countries, especially in Sahel and Maghreb regions.

Competence and skills profile

  • Institutional commitment.
  • effective on teamwork.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • High capacity for communication, listening and influence.
  • Availability to live in Niamey, and to travel to other countries in West and North Africa.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quality execution management of CIDEAL’s interventions in the country, as well as its local staff, coordinating stakeholders, with special attention to working with the local public administration.
  • Carry out technical and economic monitoring of the ongoing actions, as well as applying the procedures according to the regulations of each donor.
  • Provide justification for interventions in coordination with CIDEAL Foundation headquarters in Madrid and the Africa department, by preparing intermediate and final technical and financial reports, adjusted to the requirements demanded by donors.
  • Participate in networks, events and working groups that allow to make visible CIDEAL Foundation’s work.
  • Provide institutional representation towards the Spanish Cooperation (Spanish Embassy and Cooperation Office), other donors, government and local partners, with the aim of expanding and diversifying the portfolio of actions in the country.
  • Identify and collaborate, together with CIDEAL local staff, Foundation’s headquarters in Madrid and the Africa department, in formulating and submitting new proposals in funding calls that the organization will present.
  • Supervise compliance with the organization’s internal regulations regarding security measures, in coordination with CIDEAL’s headquarters in Madrid.
  • Manage local human resources hired by CIDEAL Foundation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Type of contract: employment.

Working hours: 40 hours per week.

Workplace: CIDEAL office in Niger.

Salary: According to the organization’s internal scale.
