Job Summary

The Nurse will assist medical staff in the care and treatment of patients in the Samaritan’s Purse Outpatient Department located at West Guji. The Nurse will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of care as they help treat patients. At times the Nurse may be called upon to fulfill duties not directly involved with this job description.

Key Responsibilities

Able to obtain vital signs for patients, including: blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate

Obtains baseline past medical history and history of present illness from patient

Communicates respectfully and effectively with doctor/health officer

Restock medications and supplies

Administers medication to patient as ordered

Participates in discharge teaching with patient and doctor

Has nursing certificate

Has worked in hospital or health care facility

Cares for patients with a kind and respectful manner

All other duties as assigned

Education / Experience Needed

Diploma in Clinical Nursing

2 years’ experience work in hospitals or outpatient facilities, where they provide hands-on care to patients by administering medications, managing intravenous lines, observing and monitoring patients’ conditions, maintaining records and communicating with doctors.

Language

English and Amharic are required; Local Language preferred
