About us

Christian Aid (CA) was established in 1945 by the British and Irish churches. Currently, CA works in over 40 countries, with over 550 partners, worldwide. Christian Aid has worked in Ethiopia for more than 30 years, initially responding to emergencies, but gradually establishing a long-term development programme, to facilitate thriving, resilient and equitable communities. Christian Aid in Ethiopia has three strategic priorities. These are climate justice, Economic Justice, Humanitarian/resilience and addressing Gender and social inclusion as a cross cutting priority.

About the role

The role focuses on coordinating administration, HR, staff safety and security as well as IT functions of the country program. There may be some travel required in the country and region / division. The role plays significant in shaping the country office’s culture and ability to use systems effectively. It manages CA’s property and it sources and secures various contracts (with suppliers, service providers, consultants). It is the custodian of assets and responsible for all health, safety and security issues pertaining to staff and visitors. The role is keenly involved in change processes including implementation of new policies and systems as they are rolled out. The role is heavily involved in recruitment of new staff and oversees, leads, line manages and builds the capacities of other staff members is fundamental to creating a conducive working environment for all staff.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate who can work with both internally with staff and externally with suppliers, service providers and government departments. You will need to be proactive, problem solving capacity and have strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. You will be a team player, able to establish good team relationships. If you feel you are competent, you are invited to apply for the post of Officer Manager. The position is line managed by the Country Director.

You must be educated to at least degree level in business management, human resource management and other related discipline. It is essential for you to have strong skills, knowledge and at least 5 years’ experience in the role.
