Under overall guidance of the CS Project Manager & the Project Officer & under the direct supervision of the Project Operations Officer, the Operations Assistant will be responsible in providing assistance for the development & the implementation of small grants activities promoting social cohesion. Role objectives

  • Support the Community Stabilization (CS) Project Operations Officer in planning & managing the Community Stabilization Project portfolio in close coordination with relevant project partners & stakeholders including govt. authorities, national & international agencies, NGOs/CSOs, working groups etc.
  • Provide technical inputs for the effective implementation of the projects through developing work plans, procurement plans & M&E plans.
  • Identify risks & challenges in project development, implementation & suggest recommendations on mitigation strategies to the CS Project Operations Officer & stakeholders.
  • Provide regular & timely update to the CS Project Operations Officer on progress & where relevant, on additional needs in relation to the project implementation & follow up activities.
  • Ensure regular communication with Project Operation Officer &field staff in Kufrah, including timely submissions of reports, meeting minutes, tracking tools & documentation of beneficiary data.
  • Assist in liaison work with local govt. officials with the aim of fostering closer working relationships in the implementation of the community stabilization activities.
  • Assist in the effective implementation of the overall Community Stabilization activities in Kufrah in order to ensure a timely delivery of planned assistance to the beneficiaries.
  • Monitor the performance of hired service providers & implementation partners, including financial tracking, information management & reporting.
  • Conduct regular activity site visits & provide recommendations for effective & efficient implementation of the activities.
  • Coordinate with relevant partners in the development & implementation of capacity building activities related to community stabilization for govt. institutions, NGOs/CSOs staff & beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate & plan the collection of testimonies, stories & photos from the beneficiaries.
  • Perform any other such duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor. Project reporting

  • University Degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science or an equivalent combination of relevant training & a minimum of four years field experience.

Languages;

  • Fluent in Arabic & English.
