Functional responsibilities:

The Operations Specialist – Training will be working as an integral part of the UNMAS Mali Joint Operations Centre and will be responsible for the coordination of training activities in conjunction with the Planning Officer. He/she will be responsible for the development, review and management of all training material in coordination with the Quality Manager and based on the results of external quality assurance and the evolution of the threat in Mali. His/Her functional responsibilities are:

  • Review, manage, and standardize all training management packages in use by the Mali programme, including gathering feedback from UNMAS staff, implementing partners and from After Action Reviews;
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to improve quality assurance/quality control framework. Specifically by working with external quality monitors, the national authority, and other key stakeholders, and designing and implementing technical courses/trainings and develop an effective framework;
  • Develop Training Management Packages in conjunction with training contractors;
  • Liaise with all training related stakeholders such as training implementation partners and contractors as needed;
  • Conduct periodic review of Mali Training Standards;
  • Contribute to the process of measuring the impact of training delivered in coordination with the pillars implementing the training activities;
  • Track all training activities by unit from Pre-Deployment Training to completion of Troop Contributing Countries rotation through liaison with Pre-Deployment Training Team, Support to MINUSMA and Operations;
  • Liaise with MINUSMA U7 (Force Staff Branch dedicated to Training Activities in order to provide the required inputs to the Joint Operations Center in the planning and implementation of training activities;
  • Any other tasks as directed by the Chief of Operations.
