DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement all hygiene protocols and infection control measures during OTP consultations.
  • Ensure all protocols are maintained in the OTP.
  • Give feedback on all activities and report to the Medical Doctor
  • Train community health workers (CHW) and CHW supervisors according to work demand also with monitoring in the field.
  • Monitor daily activities of CHW and CHW supervisors (MUAC screening; patient referrals to OTPs, health promotion activities; etc.).
  • Carry-out and coordinate the MCH administrative works (stationeries, patient charts/files, patient-referral papers, etc.) and Daily tally compilation to the data encoders.
  • Elaborate nutrition data collection tools for improvements as required.
  • Weekly reporting of activities on number of admissions, discharges and defaulters, from each OTP sites (to be checked and submitted for data encoding).
  • Follow-up and supervise drug orders/weekly requests, storage of medical supplies, stock follow-up, inventories, etc.) with daily reporting
  • Organize CHW team meetings everyday morning and before closing OTP.
  • Clear all financial issues weekly for CHWs at the last day of week.
  • Maintain the same protocols and rules regulation in every OTPs.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Academic

  • Diploma in Health Sciences such as Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing or another technical relevant discipline

Experience

· 2-3 years in similar position

· Experience working in Somalia

· Nutrition back ground from a recognized health institution

Work related skills

· Strong experience in health and nutrition

· Strong knowledge of the programme management cycle, and related process and structures for quality programme management

· Good organizational skills

· Good time management skills

· Strong communication skills, including ability to lead and manage remote

· Ability to work in harsh conditions

· Strategic thinking

· Aggressive and Result Oriented

· Able to set targets and meet own targets on a monthly basis and follow up targets of reporting colleagues

· Able to meet deadlines

· Knowledge of local Language- Somali

· Able to identify programme challenges and plan and communicate alternatives for smooth programme implementation
