DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide quality nursing care in the sectors of Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health, Obstetrics Care and general nursing
  • To ensure high quality clinical service for communities visited by the mobile outreach
  • Ensure the highest level of infection control and clinical standards
  • As part of the clinical outreach team, support education and marketing strategies to increase access of health products and service to target populations
  • Participate in community education and awareness sessions
  • Ensuring sufficient medical supplies are ordered and packed ready for Outreach
  • Participating in monthly and quarterly stock takes
  • Attending to clients including completion of registers, filling record book, checking medical history, ensuring that all relevant results have been received for doctors review (USS, blood tests, etc.) and observations provided.
  • Comply and maintain rigorous infection control protocols and also ensure you are able to sterilize in mobile clinical outreach clinics.
  • Record bookings for clients requesting to be seen by the doctor, bookings, and ensure records are up to date and filing is done
  • Provide essential nursing assistance to the doctors, according to the needs of the client
  • Provide effective referral services to clients, including scheduling follow up actions.
  • Ensure swift follow up on Laboratory results for clients as per our guidelines.
  • As needed, liaise with community leaders and organizations as needed to maintain an effective communication channel between Mercy USA and the community and partners for the delivery of Seek to reduce communicable diseases
  • Maintain confidentiality protocols
  • Provide monthly report to your line manager and both, check to ensure, client numbers are accurate and that records and supplies match

JOB SPECIFICATION

Academic

  • Trained as a Nurse and graduated from a recognized institution on Somalia

Experience

· 2-3 years in similar position

Work related skills

· Good organizational skills

· Good time management skills

· Strong communication skills, including ability to lead and manage remote

· Ability to work in harsh conditions

· Aggressive and Result Oriented

· Able to set targets and meet own targets on a monthly basis and follow up targets of reporting colleagues

· Able to meet deadlines

· Knowledge of local Language- Somali
