Pact West Africa is a Non-Governmental Organization with over a decade of experience working in Nigeria to create thriving, resilient communities that are heard, capable, and vibrant. Pact West Africa started operations as Pact Nigeria in 2005, and builds capacity of civil society organizations and improves the livelihoods and health of the poor and marginalized in the society. Pact is seeking a qualified consultant to facilitate a three-day team building exercise and tocompile a report outlining the workshop’s proceedings, including practical recommendations and operational tools which can be used by the team in the future.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Partnership Development Intern

Location: Abuja

Position Summary

  • Provides support to all Partnership Related activities for Pact and supports New Business endeavours.

Role and Responsibilities
Partnership Role:

  • Provide support between the field office and the country office on all partnership activities.
  • Support Systems Practice and development of Country Strategy
  • Research and identify development trends, prospects, and growth opportunities; compile and maintain information related to key contacts, organizations, and overlapping interests with Pact programming.
  • Support the mapping and identifying of new partners.
  • Support efforts to seek partnerships with the private sector and identify opportunities for partnership that drive business value and provide mutual benefits.
  • Support development of Pact Nigeria Advocacy Materials.
  • Collaborate with programs and communications teams to establish materials (i.e. briefs) for partnership and new business development efforts.
  • Archiving of both electronic and physical documents of all partnership related activity.

New Business Role:

Track New Business Opportunities:

  • Support all proposal development endeavours.
  • Support in the research and identifying of development trends, prospects, and growth opportunities; compile and maintain information related to key contacts, organizations, and overlapping interests with Pact programming.
  • Support coordination of business development efforts, proposal development and writing processes.
  • Generate new ideas and business opportunities to increase fundraising and fund development to meet and exceed goals.
  • Support coordination of business development efforts, proposal development and writing processes.
  • Generate new ideas and business opportunities to increase fundraising and fund development to meet and exceed goals.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in a relevant field (e.g. Social Sciences, International Development, Business, Development Studies)
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Motivated to work with tight deadlines and ambitious targets.
  • Outstanding communication skills (oral and written).
  • Able to process large amount of information quickly and take decisions to solve problems capable to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Competence using common desktop applications, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Possesses positive attitude, self-motivated, independent, can deliver results under stress and timely manner, team worker.
  • Knowledge of the development sector in Nigeria.
