The Opportunity:

  • The Project Coordinator shall be responsible for overseeing project implementation, provide overall leadership, coordinate with project partners and supervisethe Field Officers of the project in Cairo, Portsaid  and Luxor offices As well as liaison with the other relevant governorate and district level governmental bodies and agencies.
  • The Project Coordinator will be responsible for progress project reporting. Tracking and monitoring activity progress, ensure activity implementation abides with the project indicators, provide accurate and timely status reports and support development of reports.
  • The Project Coordinator is also expected to ensure that Plan Egypt’s relevant policies on gender, child and young people safe guarding , monitoring and evaluation and team security management are embedded into the project implementation plans.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership role

  • Collaborate and lead coordination with the relevant program staff, ensuring that the project is implemented within the ambit of the strategic objectives of Plan Egypt’s Country Strategic Plan-2016-2022.
    Networking and Advocacy
  • Build and foster relationships with local level government departments/officials and collaborating partners in the sector of Women Economic Empowerment for efficient project implementation.
  • Represent Plan in meetings and deliberations in relevant networks in Cairo, Portsaid and Luxor as needed by the project and in coordination with  Managers of Plan offices in the respective or neighboring governorates (Damietta, Qena and Cairo) .  Budget and Project Outlines (PO’s) management
  • Set up and ensure well-functioning community-based M&E systems to effectively monitor the project implementation.
  • Ensure that the budget planning and implementation of the relevant POs are done with the maximum level of quality and in tandem with the project objectives.
  • Support the development of the Projects Outlines (PO) in SAP, ensuring their alignment with the projects’ approved budget and donor’s guidelines.
  • Support the Finance Department to generate the required financial reports that inform the projects’ team members on the progress of expenditure
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child and young people safe Guarding  and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

    Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours  Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:

  • 5 years exp. In relevant position
  • A degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or related discipline.
  • Prior experience of working on inclusive Youth and Women Economic Empowerment or Employability projects, in INGO will be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of field based monitoring and relationship building.
  • Excellent English language writing and speaking skills
  • Excellent Reports writing skills
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
