Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Area Programme Coordinator, and the overall supervision of the Logistics Coordinator (PLC), the Procurement Assistant will be responsible and accountable for Procurement and Logistics activities for the respective field.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, Business Administration or Graduate Diploma in Purchasing & Supplies Management – C.I.P.S or equivalent.
- A strategic thinker with strategy and procurement experience.
- Two years’ experience leading a procurement team in a demanding work environment, preferably with an International NGO.
- Sound public and negotiation skills along with business acumen essential, coupled with attention to details, maturity in decision making and time management skills
- A proactive person with initiative and drive, honest with a high level of integrity; a team-player with good planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, working with different groups, partners and nationalities
- Ability to multitask and cope with competing demands under tight deadlines.
- Ability to cope with high workload and stress and identify priority activities and assignments, and adjust priorities as required
- High level of confidentiality
- Computer literate in MS Office
