Program Associate – Community Land Protection 370 views0 applications

Namati’s Community Land Protection Program proactively strengthens communities’ ability to protect, document, and defend their customary and indigenous land rights. Drawing on eight years of fieldwork and research, Namati works with national partner organizations to support communities to complete a powerful five-part process for protecting community lands and natural resources. Our integrated approach combines the legal and technical work of mapping and documentation with the good governance work of resolving land conflicts, ensuring intra-community equity, and strengthening mechanisms for accountable and participatory sustainable management of land and natural resources. In Kenya, Namati supports communities and the Government of Kenya to use the Community Land Act to strengthen land tenure security, strengthen local land governance, enhance women’s land rights, and support communities to more sustainably manage land and natural resources.
