Ethiopian Assemblies of God Church Aid and Development Association (EAGC-ADA) is local non-profit Humanitarian NGO working to improve the wellbeing of children & youths and end extreme poverty of Women. EAGC-ADA is currently implementing: child Development , child feeding, Women Economic Development and Street life prevention Project in Adiss Ababa, Zeway, Woliso and Bahir Dar. Currently ,EAGC-ADA employs approximately 80+ staff in five of its field offices.
Position Overview:
The program coordinator will be in charge of leading, Planning , Supervising and coordinating EAGC-
ADA’s projects (one child Maters, school Feeding ,Women Economic Empowerment and street Life
Prevention). The coordinator provides leadership for more than 10 programs employees through 4 direct reports. He will provide leadership, build an effective team ,provide technical advice to her/his team, and advise the country director. The position will also participate in developing strategy, creating systems, and improving program management standards with the ultimate aim of increasing efficiency and achieving EAGC-ADA’s goal.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the documentation and dissemination of project results, including preparation and submission of progress reports, quarterly financial and physical reports, annual reports, midterm, terminal evaluation, presentation, and other project documentation.
- Participate in the design and implementation of community need assessments at wereda level.
- Prepare new project proposal.
- Participate in the recruitment of project staffs and volunteers (head cooks, cooks and time keepers)
- Monitor effective budget utilization.
- Visit all school feeding centers, and sample beneficiaries of all projects.
- Monitor the procurement of food items and on time delivery of the purchased items.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective implementation of project activities.
- Facilitate the conduct of student baseline and end line body measurement
- Carry out monthly discussion session with head cooks and volunteers’ cooks.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and financial and other policies and procedures and contribute to the preparation and implementation of grant requirements.
- Provide feedback and implement project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs and activities and deliver on time and to budget.
- Attend organization meeting and initiatives as required.
- Establish positive relationship with partners and other stake holders through effective communication.
- The project coordinator reporting to the Country Director and program coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementation, organization, coordinating, monitoring and evaluation of the project
Job Requirements
Job Specification/required qualification and experience
- MA or BA Degree in Economics, development Studies, Sociology, Social work and related fields
- 5 years of work experience as project coordinator or officer in NGO setting
- Experience working with government officials, implementing partners, and other stake holders.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
