Program Facilitator Job Description – Mutoko Program Area
Location – Mudzi
Reporting to the Project Manager, the position takes a lead role in the district implementation of the project, “Challenging Social Norms” that condone/promote violence against children” which will be implemented in partnership with UNICEF under the Child Protection Fund.
Accountabilities:
- Leads planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating of the Challenging social norms that condone/promote violence against children project activities
- Identifies and trains community based mentors and Community Case Workers (CCWs) on gender and child protection using the Champions of Child Protection (CoCP) model
- Registers households for the project and tracks their participation in the CoCP clubs and family clubs
- Coordinates with other NGO partners for joint targeting and delivery of messages to adolescents and parents, as well as the provision of referrals using the case management system.
- Conducts regular monitoring of mentors and Community Case Workers activities, providing technical support to the community based cadres.
- Participates in, develops and strengthens collaborative relationships at district level in child rights to enhance Plan International’s program performance
- Supports and participates in district children and youth related partnership activities, alliances and networks
- Leads at district level, the sharing of experiences and lessons learnt within the project and with other CPF II partner organizations.
- Integrates the Safeguarding Policy with project activities at district level
Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming
Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy; Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.
Knowledge:
- A degree in social sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience at a similar level in gender, child rights and/or adolescent programming
- Understanding of social norms and their influence on behavior, attitudes and practices
- Knowledge of programming issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
- A Class 3 or 4 Driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to ride a motorbike
- Experience in radio programming and social media will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of the local language
