About CRS:

Background:
CRS’ INKATHA Nutrition Program is designed to maximize sustainability (i) by leveraging the resources, structures, and capacities of the USAID/FFP-financed 76 million USD 5-year (2017-2022) Nuyok and Apolou Development Food Security Activities (DFSA), implemented by consortia led by CRS and Mercy Corps, respectively, and rolling out many of the same activities in the same target geographical areas, as well as (ii) by tapping into the considerable capacities of WFP and UNICEF in Karamoja, and (iii) b y complementing the CBSF with far-reaching, participative and inclusive social behavior change communication (SBCC) and robust linkages to on- and off-farm livelihoods options that have already proven to work.

INKATHA will use a multi-pronged approach that tips the balance in favor of sustainable behavior change in the way that HHs operate; PLW and CU5 will receive specialized nutritious foods to improve children’s nutrition status during their first 1,000 days; caregivers of children aged 6–23 months and PLW will benefit from SBCC to prevent chronic malnutrition; caregivers of MAM CU5 months and PLW will receive nutrition education to support nutritional recovery; CU5 and PLW benefit from improved skills among health professionals in nutrition programming to improve nutrition status; and community members will benefit from enhanced knowledge of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions to improve nutrition status.

Job Summary:
CRS is looking for a qualified Program Manager for INKATHA Karamoja Nutrition Program (contingent upon funding). The Program Manager will lead the implementation of the WFP funded INKATHA Nutrition Program activities in Amudat, Moroto, Napak, Nabilatuk and Nakapiripirit Districts of Karamoja Region. The Program Manager will be based in Moroto with frequent travel within the region and will report directly to the Head of Office in Moroto, with a close programmatic line of supervision by the Head of Programs.

Qualifications and experience:
* Graduate degree in public health, nutrition, development or livelihoods related field
* Sound management skills, including a minimum of five years of project management experience
* Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with government structures in a developing country context
* Demonstrated experience in community-based programs
* Experience managing UN funding, additional experience managing food commodities a plus.
* Strong cross-cultural skills and a demonstrated ability to influence change without direct authority, and to work successfully with farmers and professionals

Required Foreign Language: N/A

Required Travel: Willingness to travel 50% of the time to field locations within Karamoja
