Job Description
The Program Officer – Agriculture and Environmental Management are primarily responsible for the coordination and implementation of agricultural and environmental-related research, projects, and programs of EERC in Nigeria. S/he is expected to work under the direct supervision of the Program Manager to lead program design; develop competitive proposals; facilitate research implementation; develop program budget; and negotiate partnership opportunities with donor agencies, government agencies, research institutions, private sectors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Education: A minimum of a master’s degree in any agricultural discipline including agricultural economics, development economics, agricultural extension, environmental economics, or any other related field is required.
Prior Work Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively professional experience working in the agriculture sector in Nigeria is required. Three (3) years experience in proposal development and grant writing, planning and evaluation of programs, project design and implementation, and stakeholder engagement is required. Professional experience in developing, executing, and evaluating agriculture activities is required. Experience working or collaborating with donors, governments, and/or international organizations is required.
