Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting, and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. Nutrition International is seeking applications for Program Officer, Livelihoods – PINGS Project to be based in Senegal – Kaffrine-Kedougou / Kolda.

About you

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or other related field from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education and experience, 3 years experience working in area of livelihood and/or food security. 3 years experience supporting livelihood/food security projects. Experience working with Microsoft suite

About the role

In this role, you will be

Part of the Zonal Coordination Team, the Program Officer – Livelihoods will provide support in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of livelihoods interventions targeting women and adolescent girls and including agriculture, livestock, fodder production, aquaculture, food processing, and entrepreneurship.

The Program Officer – Livelihoods will work closely with the Program Officer – Nutrition to ensure that PINGS livelihood activities are included in the Decentralized Technical Services’ action plans. S/he will also work closely with the Gender Advisor to ensure livelihoods interventions are gender-responsive i.e. easily available and accessible to women and adolescent girls as well as acceptable and adaptable to their specific needs.

The Program Officer – Livelihoods will also ensure environmentally sustainable approaches are integrated into livelihoods interventions to reduce environmental impacts in the targeted communities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or other related field from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education and experience, 3 years experience working in area of livelihood and/or food security. 3 years of experience supporting livelihood/food security projects. Experience working with Microsoft suite
