Together with the Programme Manager, Programme Officer will support implementation of peacebuilding project implemented through South Sudan Council of Churches.

About the role

Christian Aid is looking for an energic and enthusiastic individual with strong technical and relationship management skills. You will be part of a dedicated and dynamic team that is committed to using integrated approach in delivery programmes with deep and big impact.  Your work will be dedicated towards implementation of a high-profile project activities funded by the UK government, working in partnership with CAFOD and Trocaire in Partnership (CTP) to support the South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC) as it implements its Action Plan for Peace. You will be supporting the PM in the delivery of the Project results, which also includes working with technology with cattle camp youth on peace. CA has been working with the churches in South Sudan since the 1970s, and we have strong expertise in working with local and national partners. You will be expected to play a key role in ensuring that CA and CTP’s support for the APP effectively supports the critical role of the churches in representing the voice of the voiceless and building sustainable peace and reconciliation in South Sudan.

The PO joins the CA team as it is on a positive and exponential growth path, as evidenced by increased funding, strengthened peacebuilding and humanitarian programming, improved performance and strengthening of its networks. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure the delivery of a project which can make an important contribution at local, regional and national level. You will contribute positively to the overall well-being of the office and be active participants in matters pertaining to the overall country programme in the office.

About you

You are an innovative and experienced with partner-based approach, with a track record of managing sizeable and diverse partner portfolio of programme. You will be able to systematically support SSCC throughout project cycle with implementation, monitoring as well as documenting learnings for the purposes of ensuring adaptive programme. You will have extensive knowledge and experience of peace building approaches with bias on faith-based organizations and leadership if applicable.
