Sightsavers has an exciting vacancy for a Programme Officer to join our team based in Mali. You will join our team and be instrumental in the planning, implementation and development of the objectives and targets of the Social Inclusion programmes.

The position reports to the Programme Manager and will contribute to all aspects of the project cycle. You will have strong monitoring and evaluations skills as this is essential to the ongoing success of the programme. This roles requires an organised individual with the ability to ensure project deliverables are met. You will proactively provide good quality information and be willing to engage in shared learning with fellow colleagues and partners. You will be expected to build strong relationships internally and externally to help promote SIghtsavers and their projects.

The successful candidate will monitor the project expenditure and provide financial reports when required. This role requires someone to have strong project experience with the ability to analyse data and produce reports on the data to the wider team. You will also be required to regularly travel to the field and provide support in identifying areas that require technical support.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ work experience, ideally in an INGO environment; experience in all aspects of Project Management in community level development programmes; and experience in health programming. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in programme and project management; monitoring and evaluation; report writing; and working with a number of partners. Experience and understanding of government systems particularly the health sector will be advantageous. A degree in relevant field (Social Sciences, Development Studies, Disability Studies, Education or equivalent) or equivalent qualification will be required.

You will have strong interpersonal, communication, capacity building or facilitation skills; ability to work under minimum supervision; ability to work with project budgets and in-depth knowledge of computer packages and Global ICT communication systems.
