JOB BRIEF:

The Project Assistant (PA) will be based in Tunis, Tunisia and will be supervised by the Security Sector Reform Project Officer (PO). The PA will also work closely with the Senior Project Assistant (SPA) to support project and event execution.

This is a Fixed-Time Term Personal Services Contractor position.

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience and with USIP’s pay scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Assistant, Security Sector Reform will:

  • Provide effective logistical and administrative support for the successful implementation of the Security Sector Reform project. This includes, but is not limited to: contract submission, document preparation for payment, vendor contacts, preparation of event budgets;
  • Prepare and disseminate timely programmatic and financial reports to the North Africa Program Management Team and to other entities as appropriate;
  • Ensure that program databases and documents are stored effectively and updated as necessary in a timely manner to enhance the knowledge management of USIP’s programs;
  • Plan and support USIP staff travel, as well as make appointments, attend meetings, and take notes as needed;
  • Work closely with the regional and in-country administrative and logistical team;
  • Support the Regional Security Coordinator with local security updates, and maintain a high level of security awareness at all times;
  • Perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This position is only open for Tunisian citizens.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two (2) or more years of related experience.
  • A very strong command of English, French and Arabic.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation in handling all assigned tasks.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to cope with changes in schedules, multiple priorities and deadlines.
