Nutrition International (NI) formerly Micronutrient Initiative, is a Canadian based International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of mothers, children and adolescents. NI implements high impact and low-cost nutrition interventions in Senegal. The vision of NI is a world where everyone, everywhere is free from malnutrition and able to reach their full potential. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for Project Director to be based in Dakar, Senegal.

About you

You will have a master’s degree in nutrition, international development, public health and/or related field. At least 10 years experience in public health, food security and/or nutrition and at least 5 years experience working in developing countries in a program management or senior technical role. Trained in epidemiology and research methodology. Superior communication skills including technical writing and presentation skills. Good written and spoken English. Fluency in French.

About the role

In this role you will be:

· Overseeing and working closely with implementing partners to develop a detailed annual workplans for the project that clearly defines the activities and resources required for the implementation of the project; and update it regularly to ensure the timely completion of project activities and achievement of the deliverables of the project.

· Guiding the implementation of project activities and ensuring that Nutrition International project staff and implementing partners are executing the project according to the approved project plan.

· Ensuring that the baseline and endline surveys as well as project’s evaluations are conducted in a timely manner and adheres to NI’s high technical standards for data quality.

· Managing NI employees’ contracts and consultants in a timely manner and according to local legislation and NI policies.

· Ensuring all project funds are managed according to established accounting policies and procedures.

· Building and strengthening relationships with key project stakeholders and implementing partners to ensure that the project is harmonized with other donors funded programs and facilitates government leadership and ownership in line with the Paris Principles.

· Supporting the CD to provide overall leadership of the Sahel Country Office.
