JOB SUMMARY

 The Community Facilitator under the supervision of Jimma PHE EC Project coordinator will be responsible for implementation of Project activities in Dedo woreda. The Community Facilitator will be primarily responsible for ensuring the achievement of PHE integration related to household resilience, Environmental and climate related objectives, deliverables and targets using PHE multi-sectoral approach. The Facilitator is expected to carryout routine activity planning and implementation of field level activities; coordinate and monitor/supervise timely implementation of project activities.  He/She will be responsible for conducting regular site visits, and provide technical assistance including organizing PHE integration activities with Government partners and other stakeholders in the area.  He/She will assist in the preparation of quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports to head office, secretariat offices and for government offices

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Coordinate community based conversation with in the assigned project site
  • Facilitate the DFPA and Packard funded project as per the agreement
  • Participate in selecting community representatives for training
  • Monitor the implementation of DFPA and Packard funded  activities as per the schedule and plan
  • Facilitate training for the community in the targeted kebeles
  • Implementing Integrating Environment and Health related activities within the project site
  • Communicate and empower the  grass root level community leader and Woreda taskforces to enable them for accelerating resilience
  • Write Monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual report both physical and financial expenditure.
  • Carry out other PHE Ethiopia Consortium’s assignments as may be required and as directed by the Project Coordinator and Manager.

REPORTS TO:

  • Project coordinator

CONTRACT DURATION:

  • One year with possible extension

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Natural resource management, Forestry, Environment or related fields
  • At least 3-5 years practical experience
  • Strong interest and commitment in women empowerment, household resilience, environmental conservation and management
  • Project implementation facilitation skill
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft word, Excel, power point and other MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Oromifa, English and Amharic
  • Excellent experience of Working with Team and Relation Building
  • Assist in organizing workshops, seminars and training programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal/external partners and promote collaboration in a multi-stakeholder environment.
