About the role

Sightsavers are currently looking to recruit an experienced Project Finance Officer to join their finance team in Uganda. This role will be responsible for maintaining all financial records and reporting for the ELFA project work; manage the procurement of project supplies and monthly stock reconciliation, and support day to day operational activities for the Uganda ELFA projects/programme under the leadership of the Country NTD Manager.

Knowledge, skills and experience

The Project Finance Officer in collaboration with colleagues will continually ensure quality and consistency of financial management and controls in the country office. The role supports financial planning and budgeting, financial monitoring and audits and the review of project reports, planning and analysis. The post-holder will manage all procurement needs, overseeing payroll and IT requirements for the office as required.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within international development encompassing Financial Management, Project Management, fixed asset management and Financial Reporting and Planning.

Essential:

  • Degree educated in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent qualification
  • Hold a professional accounting qualification by a recognised body such as CPA/ACCA for example
  • Proven work experience in a similar finance role in either international development or an NGO
  • High numeracy and literacy
  • Strong IT and Excel, Word
  • Passionate about financial management and works with integrity
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili
  • Current and ongoing right to work in Uganda
