Project Officer- Somali Joint Response (SOMJR)

The Role:

The Project Officer will support the project management team and guide/supervise partners, ensuring high quality, accountable, community-focused project design and implementation. He/she will drive project implementation, ensuring projects take place on time, on-target and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation.
  • Capacity Building to community groups and partners.
  • Promote accountability, compliance and good stewardship.

Essential:

  • Degree in Agriculture, Animal Production, Home Economics, Farm Management or other related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar position at supervisory level, with good understanding in project implementation.
  • Proven problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Experience working with pastoralist communities on development matters, advocacy and governance, gender mainstreaming, and children rights.
  • Community mobilization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Working Environment:

The position is field based in Gebiley with frequent travel to Hargeisa office.
