The Opportunity:

In this role as the Proposal Development Advisor you will lead the Proposal Development process for Plan International Nigeria’s humanitarian response. You will be required to pull together bid materials (proposals, presentations and concept notes), design and lead on proposal development workshops, to design and validate consortia/bid team inputs, provide high quality proposal review to other proposals and support capacity building and training of programme teams and local partners on proposal development.

The Person:

In order to succeed in this role you will need to have demonstrable experience in business development in humanitarian context.

Strong writing skills and a well-established record of accomplishment of developing winning funding proposals to donors such as USAID, EC, UKAID, SIDA, GFFO, GIZ, UN Agencies, and so forth.

General knowledge and understanding of Humanitarian Principles and core standards e.g. CPIE Minimum standards, Core Humanitarian Standards, SPHERE and other relevant international standard for humanitarian response

Location: Maidguri, Nigeria

Type of Role: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract (this is an unaccompanied position)

Reports to: Resources Mobilization Manager with a dotted line to the Emergency Response Manager

Salary: circa US$50,000

Plan International is an international organisation or development which works in 51 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to promote the safeguarding of children.It is a nonprofit organisation and is one of the world's largest organisations based on children, it works in 58,000 communities with the help of volunteers to improve how 56 million children live. The charity also has 21 national organisations who have been given the responsibility to oversee the raising of funds and awareness in their individual countries.

The organisation puts an emphasis on communities working together in order to address the needs of children around the world. The NGO focuses on child participation, education, economic security, emergencies, health, protection, sexual health (including HIV), and water and sanitation. It provides training in disaster preparedness, response and recovery, and has worked on relief efforts in countries including Haiti, Colombia and Japan.
