The role
The Proposal Development and Reports Intern supports the development of high quality, compliant proposals and helps to coordinate the development of narrative reports.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of New Business Development, Technical Advisers, Area Managers and SC Members in the development of concept notes, speculative and other, and proposals for institutional donors including DfID, ECHO, OFDA, HPF, GAC, and SIDA, in addition to corporate and other donors. The post holder will also support narrative donor reporting on identified priority projects. S/He will work closely with the project team to ensure reports meet donor requirements, follow a clear logic, reflect on outcomes as well outputs, and are submitted on time to members.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Bachelors in relevant field and experience of working internationally in development/humanitarian programmes; previous emergency response experience highly advantageous.
* Experience in the preparation of successful funding (narrative and budget) proposals and reports for donors
* Previous experience of project management and project cycle management, including project design, implementation and evaluation
* Good understanding of donor compliance and reporting mechanisms and requirements
* Ability to work well under pressure and work to deadlines
* Excellent communication skills
* Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
* Excellent written and spoken English and French
* The capacity and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
* Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children and willingness to abide by policies in personal and professional life.
Desirable:
* Good knowledge and understanding of child right based programming.
* Knowledge of DRC and/or central and/or west Africa region.
Experience And Skills
Essential:
* Experience writing proposal for project funded by ECHO, OFDA, FHRDC, GAC, SIDA, DFID…
* Experience working under pressure and with diversified team.
* Multitasking
Contract length: 06 Months
