The Public Health (WASH) Program Manager supports the development and preparation of the WASH and Public Health programs and will lead the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene promotion programs, providing overall technical and management oversight to the sector and guiding environment conservation efforts within the Kordofan state. The incumbent is responsible for the planning, implementation, budget management and monitoring of WASH and Public Health activities in their respective area. He/she is expected to have a high level of understanding of Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) and able to build staff and government line ministries’ capacities. This person is expected to have excellent coordination skills, strong interpersonal skills, a high ability to work independently and to take initiative and skills in negotiation and influencing to support policy and advocacy so that state level actors and line ministries improve their service provisions, especially, in areas of community-based operation and maintenance of WASH facilities, CLTS implementations and helping communities climb the sanitation ladder based on Sudan’s WASH sector strategy. S/he will build and sustain close working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders through active sharing of information and knowledge to facilitate program implementation and build the capacity of stakeholders to achieve Community Based WASH output results. He/she will prepare learning/knowledge products, covering innovative approaches and good practices, to support overall WASH sector development. He/she will contribute to the systematic assessment of WASH and Public Health sector capacity gap analysis, in collaboration with government and other stakeholders, and support the design of initiative to strengthen capacities systematically. Additionally, he/she will participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of line ministries and national partners.

Qualifications:
- Basic degree or masters in Engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years with INGOs; Specialization in Humanitarian assistance preferred
- Experience in WASH and Public Health program management in conflict / post-conflict contexts, preferably with experience in supporting emergency and recovery programs.
- Knowledge in humanitarian standards and codes, including SPHERE
- Experience managing OFDA, ECHO and UN projects
