About HIJRA
Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid (HIJRA) is an international African humanitarian and development organization that aims to positively contribute towards improving the living standards and conditions of those adversely affected by disasters and conflict in the Horn and East Africa.
HIJRA has been responding to the humanitarian crisis in Somalia since 1991 through the various program which includes health and nutrition, food security and livelihood, WASH, protection, and education. Through funding from UNOCHA, HIJRA is currently responding to flood response in Wanwalein District through Health and nutrition projects by providing primary health care and nutrition service.
Job Summary:
To provide general medical care, treatment, mental health and psychosocial support to the project beneficiaries during the medical mobile outreaches within program area of operation.**
Responsibilities and Duties
- Performing physical exams and patient observations.
- Recording patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
- Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
- Ordering, administering, and analyzing diagnostic tests.
- Monitoring and operating medical equipment.
- Diagnosing health issues.
- Administering medicine and other treatments
- Analyze test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options
- Providing mental health and psychosocial support to the project target population
- Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity
- Serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions
- Documenting patient information
- Writing program report including activity, weekly, monthly and quarterly
- Any other duty assigned by the supervisors Performing physical exams and patient observations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Registered with relevant regulation body (The Nursing Council)
- Diploma in either Registered or Enrolled Community Nursing
- Valid nurse practitioner license
- At least 3 years working experience in a community set up
- Ability to work within a team and take direction
